Are you ready for a different therapy experience?
Therapy for when insight alone hasn’t healed the parts that hurt
Compassionate, experiential therapy specializing in trauma, PTSD, anxiety and attachment. Serving individuals and couples in-person in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles and online across California.
You keep finding yourself in the same patterns and you don’t know why.
Does this sound like you?
✓ You know what to do, but you can’t seem to change.
✓ You don’t identify as having trauma, but you can’t seem to show up fully yourself with others.
✓ You simultaneously feel like too much and never enough.
✓ You’ve done the work on yourself and you know what’s wrong, but you still don’t feel better.
✓ You’re ready to stop coping and start healing.
WE MIGHT WORK WELL TOGETHER IF YOU IDENTIFY WITH ANY OF THESE…
You’re tired of your trauma running your life.
Your trauma is part of you, but it doesn’t have to rule you. You may not be able to change your past, but you can change how you feel about it and how it shows up in your life today. One of the hardest things about trauma is that so often you’ve had to endure its impacts alone. Frequently, the people we needed to show up for us then either couldn’t or didn’t — and that has left wounds too. I offer a place where you can safely explore your trauma and how it shows up in your life today together, undoing the aloneness you may have felt for years. You and your feelings won’t be too much for me and you won’t have to make yourself small.
Everyone thinks you’re fine, but inside you’re struggling.
On the outside you look good, but inside you are feeling disconnected and alone. Maybe you’re a people-pleaser, the adult child of immature parents, or someone who masks even with those closest to you. Often this is due to attachment injuries, which are less about what happened to you and more about what you didn’t get when you needed it and the protective strategies you developed as a result. Together, we’ll process those old ideas and make room for a more authentic you in your life today. You don't have to keep carrying this hidden loneliness by yourself, and I won't be intimidated by what emerges when we start looking underneath.
You’re looking for therapy that’s friendly to men.
Being a man shouldn’t disqualify you from therapy, but sometimes it feels like it does. I don’t treat being a man as a problem to be solved. In our work together, we’ll focus on what’s important to you and you won’t be asked to choose between feeling better and feeling like you. Some men find that they feel more comfortable talking with a female therapist and it can be particularly helpful if the women in your life are telling you that you’re “emotionally unavailable.”
You’re a couple who want to reconnect with your “we.”
In our work together, we reconnect with why you first came together and what you appreciate about one another, not just the problems you’re having today. To rekindle the feeling of “that’s my person.” We’ll identify the parts of each of you that are adding to the relationship and the parts that may be unconsciously holding you back from what you want, as well as how to navigate conflict without burning down the house.
I’m Michele.

My clients often tell me that they feel seen and heard by me in a way they haven’t been by other therapists. They are able to set aside the versions of themselves they show the world and allow the often wounded or tender, unexplored parts to peek out. They tell me that they are able to more deeply heal their wounds rather than just learn to cope with them.
I will push on the stuck places to help you move toward healing, but always collaboratively and with deep appreciation for the essential you that may not yet have fully emerged. I bring a warm, nurturing presence and we may find ourselves laughing in session as well exploring the more painful parts you may not have previously shared.
We frequently will find parts of you that once protected you but may not still serve the life you live today. And together we’ll make room for the original, joyful and authentic you.
“Our very life depends on everything's recurring till we answer from within.”
—ROBERT FROST
In our work together, we will collaborate to identify patterns that continue to show up in your life that no longer serve you and then, working from a body-based, emotion-focused and attachment-based perspective, help you to access deeper places and transform old ways of being — to answer from within.

The research shows that the single most important predictor of success in therapy is the therapeutic alliance. In other words, finding someone you trust, who you feel really gets you, and with whom you hae a shared understanding of your goals and how to get there. That matters far more than any particular therapy model, training or number of years in practice.
That’s why I offer a free 15-minute consultation by phone or Zoom, so that you can have a mini experience of what it’s like to work with me and see if it feels right.

I work from an integrated approach, which means I draw from various modalities depending on your specific needs and goals.
What all of the modalities that I work from share is that they are experiential, emotion-focused and attachment-informed.
I have completed or am current completing training in Emotion-Focused Therapy, AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR (specifically, Attachment-Focused EMDR).
My work with couples is informed by Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy).

I take an integrated, personalized and non-pathologizing approach to therapy, tailored specifically to your needs and goals. I believe that you are unique and your therapy experience should be too.
I work from an experiential, emotion-friendly and attachment-based approach, which means we will do work in the room rather than just talk about your past. My goal is to help you have a new experience of old wounds rather than just understand them, and to use our work together to help you show up in new ways in your life today.

The length of therapy depends on your goals, the complexity of what you're working through, and whether we’re focusing on a specific challenge or longstanding emotional and relationship patterns. Some people find a few months is enough to meet their goals, while others choose to stay longer to create deeper, more lasting change.
My own goal is always to work myself out of a job because you’re thriving and no longer need me.
